The community donated thousands of photographs.

The movie below shows a quick run through of some of them. (you can always press Pause to view just one picture")

But there are many, many more that will be in the exhibit.

Stay tuned for more details. We hope you enjoy this preview (it moves fast but don’t worry, we’re going to make a “slower” one).

Virtual Travel

Screen Shot 2021-08-28 at 6.09.04 PM.png

As the world continues to change, more travel destinations are available virtually. With high speed internet, you can choose your path around a museum like the Smithsonian.

You can choose rooms from the floor plan and use directional keys. If you’re on an iPad, you can pinch/zoom and swipe your way around the room.

Click an arrow on the floor to move to a different part of a room.

Cut the Cable Cord - its kinda easy

Broadband small.jpeg

Many people are moving to cut the “cord” from Satellite Cable TV. With buying just a few streaming services, you might lower your bill.

This will be one of the big benefits of high speed broadband. You can do this now, with your slower internet. But, when broadband arrives - you’ll be able to get high resolution 4K and much more !

In a simple description - you buy some subscriptions from streaming sources like Netflix or Disney (there are many) - then you log into them on your TV (or through a box hooked to your TV).

It’s not quite that simple but you probably have a friend that can help you.

And, for extra credit, you can install an Air TV Antenna (remember rabbit ears) - well local channels are free and in high definition. Inside antennas work pretty well and outside, even better.

This article covers many of the questions.

Millions of people are moving this way - that’s why you may see cable costs declining and “skinny” cable packages appearing - the competition is heating up !

Hard Boiled Eggs - you may know this-Steam them

Screen Shot 2021-04-03 at 9.55.26 AM.png

Cook’s Illustrated says steam your eggs -it really works !

Bring 1 inch water to rolling boil in medium saucepan over high heat. Place eggs in steamer basket. Transfer basket to saucepan. Cover, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook eggs for 13 minutes. When eggs are almost finished cooking, combine 2 cups ice and 2 cups cold water in medium bowl. Use tongs or a spoon to transfer eggs to ice bath; let sit for 15 minutes. Peel and enjoy.

Does it take a Miracle to Live on Chebeague Island?

I sometimes wonder.... I have experienced first hand how challenging it is to find a place to live year round. I have moved 4 times in a year and a half - each move has its own special memories. :)

My wish is to now create lot's of special memories in one place!

I am blessed to have a place to move back to in the Fall through next Spring. Right Now, I need a place for the Month of August.

I am looking for a small cottage or room to rent. Or perhaps, you or someone you know is in need of a house sitter/pet sitter? I will consider that as well.

Buying a home is what I really want to do, and will continue to ask for miracles for that too!

Thank you to all of my supporters and friends. Your welcoming nature, curiosity and generosity are felt as I continue my journey here on Chebeague. I am so grateful
