George Martin’s son Giles released this never before seen video of his father’s explanation of his first Beatle siting.
He had an extraordinary hand in their success. In the recent movie Get Back, you can see them whip into shape as his presence becomes more prominent.
In his album “In My Life” , his genius is evident in his choice of who sings the title track.
On the original recording, he played the middle eight on the piano, then doubled the playback speed. This raised pitch an octave and gave a harpsichord sound as Lennon had asked for something in the Baroque style. But, he had to play it exactly at half speed to produce final tempo !
He signed them, after they were turned down by all the major record labels.
They are very lucky they met him. (I met him once too-very gracious and unassuming)
